Set in the pretty Lancashire village of Mawdesley, Mawdesley Village Hall is a community owned facility, whose title is vested with the Official Custodian for Charities’. We are a Registered Charity.
The Hall is independently run by a dedicated group of volunteers called the Mawdesley Village Hall Management Committee, made up from user group representative and elected members. Mawdesley VillageHall is for the use of residents both in Mawdesley and the surrounding parishes. The Village Hall serves the local community by offering an excellent function room to host private parties, children's parties, weddings, fund raising events and is home to a wonderful variety of clubs to incorporate many interests and ages.
Amongst the groups using the Village Hall are the Playgroup, Mums and Toddlers, Cubs, Beavers, Scouts, Guides, W.I., Drama, Mothers Union, Youth Club, Ballroom Dancing, Line Dancing and Ballet and Children Dance Classes. The facilities are also used for an art class, historical lectures, as well as being the home for a thriving branch of the University of the Third Age.
A continuing program of maintenance and development has given Mawdesley possibly one of the best Village Halls in the county and our facilities are equal to or better than many other venues.
Inside we have a large hall with a stage, a smaller function room and a comfortable bar lounge with all the support facilities, including a large kitchen. We provide modern and appropriate facilities for disabled people; there is full disabled access together with 2 disabled toilets. Outside is floodlit hard play area the size of 4 tennis courts. All in a pleasant rural setting.
