The Parish of Mawdesley is located on the West Lancashire plain between the villages of Eccleston, Rufford and Parbold. The nearest towns are Ormskirk and Chorley. Administratively, Mawdesley forms part of Chorley Borough. Southport and Preston are approximately 12 miles away whereas Liverpool and Manchester are each about 30 miles distant.
Mawdesley takes pride in itself and its many and varied activities. It is a regular entrant in Lancashire’s Best Kept Village competition and came first in the “Medium-sized Village” category in 2001 and 2007.
